Mechanical Seams vs. Snap Lock
Tri-State Metal Roofing manufactures and installs only mechanically locked standing seam panels. This style of roof, also called structural standing seam, offers superior wind uplift resistance and is Dade County approved for hurricane zones. Our panels meet or exceed UL-580 Class 90 wind resistance for winds up to 110 mph.
Snap Lock seams are just as they sound. They consist of two panels of metal that use the flexibility of the metal to snap together at the seam without further crimping. Most Snap Lock style roofs do not pass necessary air and water filtration testing to gain Dave County approval.
Why Standing Seam
Durable: These metal roofs outlasts asphalt many times over.
Lightweight: 1/5-1/3 the weight of a layer of asphalt.
Wind Resistant: Top performer in hurricane conditions.
Weather resistant: Rain, snow and the beating sun are all repelled making a drier, cooler house or barn.
It’s Green: Ability to re-roof over existing asphalt saves our landfills. Made from high % of recycled metal.
Low Maintenance: After 45 or 50 years, repaint don’t replace.
